Our wedding site is located in a lovely wooded grove across a suspension bridge that is accessed by foot or mobility scooter only. There is no car access to the grove.

Since the site is grassy and the bridge is wood, please plan to wear appropriate footwear (high heels not recommended).

Please dress comfortably for summer! Shorts and a nice shirt or sundress with sandals and sunblock are completely appropriate and expected. Sunhats could be fun! Don't forget your sunglasses.

There is a lovely covered shelter where the food and dancing will be hosted and is our contingency plan in the event of rain.

Please feel free to bring your partner and/or kids, just let us know in the RSVP! This is a VERY kid-friendly event.

How We Met

We first crossed paths in April 2018 thanks to the magic of Bumble. Our first date was a sunny Sunday walk around Green Lake, and from the moment we started talking, it felt effortless. We covered the whole lake—and what felt like every topic under the sun—in an hour that went by way too fast. Family, religion, politics, life in the PNW… nothing felt off-limits, and everything felt natural. Saying yes to a second date was easy.

For that second date, Chris showed up with a picnic lunch, and we went rollerblading on the Sammamish River Trail—an activity that has somehow become our slightly terrifying but beloved “tradition.” At the end of the date, Chris kissed Suzanne on the forehead.

From there it was sushi dates, summer swims in Green Lake, and eventually meeting each other’s kids. From the beginning, we’ve loved spending time together and have never once run out of things to talk about. Even when we don’t quite see things the same way, we’ve learned how to listen, understand, and meet in the middle.

Meet the Family…

When we first got together, Chris still had teens and young adults at home, and Suzanne was soaking up life with the Wonder Twins. Sharing space with Jacob, Cassidy, and Patrick over the years has been lively, interesting, sometimes chaotic, but always rewarding. Watching them grow into thoughtful, capable, hilarious adults has been a privilege—and we can’t wait until the day they make us grandparents so we can babysit!

We’re grateful that Mads and Owen still choose to hang out with us (even if just barely, now that they have cars). We loved celebrating Jordan and Greg’s wedding, and it’s been a joy watching them build a strong foundation as a couple. We’re excited to see them enter that sweet era of stable, joyful, post‑child life.

The Future We’re Building

Now that the kids are grown and launched, we’re savoring this new chapter. After years of planning, we remodeled our home in 2024, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Our plan is to stay put for the next 25 years—then find ourselves a nonstop-party retirement community once we hit 75+.

We’ve already shared unforgettable adventures, with so many more waiting for us—especially our upcoming SwimTreks. (Yes, Suzanne also had to ask what that meant—it turns out it’s a weeklong swim vacation in a gorgeous location, and yes, it turned out to be even more magical than it sounds.)

Traveling with all the kids has been a highlight of our lives, and we’re thrilled for the next journeys: Disneyland and Hawaii, which promise just the right mix of chaos and joy.

What We Love About Each Other

We love each other’s adventurous spirits, the curiosity that keeps us growing, and the shared desire to make the world—our little corner of it—better.

We love the deep conversations, the laughter, the quiet moments, and even the quirks: the grumpy moods, the dramatic reactions, the endearing habits that make life anything but boring.

Every layer, every imperfection, every spark adds to the magic of who we are together.

The Proposal

In May, we returned to Vancouver, BC—one of our favorite cities—to celebrate Suzanne’s birthday. It was the kind of weekend that feels touched by fate: Capilano’s towering suspension bridge, a gondola ride above the trees to the ski hill to see the views & bears just awakening from hibernation then off to indulge in food that made us stop and smile.

The next morning, we walked the seawall around Stanley Park. Halfway through, with the shimmering water beside us, Lions Gate Bridge in the distance, and Siwash Rock guarding the shoreline, Chris paused. He shared his heart—every hope, every promise—and asked the question that changed everything.

Suzanne said yes without a single second of doubt.

The rest of the day was a blur of joy and motion—over 35,000 steps, a record for both of us—as if our feet couldn’t quite stay still under the weight of our happiness. It was a perfect day, the beginning of something even more beautiful.
